00:00We meet regularly and another meeting is being planned before the end of the year or early next year
00:08to discuss the situation on the ground.
00:10Surroundings, I had a conversation with the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs and with Iranian colleague
00:19some information and we would like to discuss with all our partners in this and this process
00:28the way to cut.
00:31So who's paying the rebels who've taken parts of Aleppo?
00:36Is the Assad government in danger of falling?
00:39What is happening exactly in your view in Syria?
00:42Well, we had a deal when this crisis started and we organized the Astana process
00:51of Russia, Turkey and Iran.
00:56We meet regularly and another meeting is being planned before the end of the year or early next year
01:05to discuss the situation on the ground.
01:08And the rules of the game is to help Syrians to come to terms with each other
01:16and to prevent separatist trends from getting strong.
01:25That's what the Americans are doing in the east of Syria when they groom some Kurdish separatists
01:34using the profits from oil and grain, salt, the resources which they occupy.
01:48This Astana format is a useful combination of players, if you wish, and we're very much concerned.
01:58After this happened with Aleppo and surroundings, I had a conversation with the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs
02:07and with Iranian colleague.
02:10We agreed to try to meet this week.
02:14Did you see it coming?
02:16Hopefully in Doha, in the margins of this international conference.
02:23We would like to discuss the need to come back to strict implementation of the deals on Idlib area
02:34because Idlib de-escalation zone was the place from where the terrorists moved to take Aleppo
02:45and the arrangements reached in 2019 and 2020 provided for our Turkish friends
02:54to control the situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone
02:59and to separate the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, former Nusra,
03:05from the opposition which is non-terrorist and which cooperates with Turkey.
03:11Apparently it is not yet the end.
03:14Another deal was the opening of M5 route from Damascus to Aleppo,
03:22which is also now taken completely by the terrorists.
03:25So we as Ministers of Foreign Affairs would discuss the situation,
03:29hopefully this coming Friday, and the military of all three countries
03:36and the security people are in contact with each other.
03:40The Islamist groups, the terrorists you just described, who is backing them?
03:45Well, we have some information and we would like to discuss with all our partners in this process
03:56the way to cut the channels of financing and arming them.
04:04The information which is being floated and it's in the public domain
04:14mentions the Americans, the Brits, among others.
04:21Some people say that Israel is interested in, you know, making this situation aggravate
04:31so that Gaza is not under very close scrutiny.
04:36It's a complicated game. Many, many actors are involved
04:40and I hope that the context which we are planning for this week will help stabilize the situation.
