00:00It is an initiative that I proposed as a parliamentarian in the last economic maneuver, which allowed
00:09us to be able to make a significant contribution to NUMPLI precisely because it represents
00:14all of the Italian prologues, and the Italian prologues are the operating arm for us administrators,
00:20for us mayors.
00:21Italy, as you know, is made up of about 8,000 municipalities, almost 6,000 have less than
00:265,000 inhabitants.
00:27In those small municipalities, the intangible heritage represents a value not only from
00:31a historical and cultural point of view, but also from an occupation point of view, from
00:35the point of view of the maintenance of territorial presidium.
00:39Today we have to catalog this more than ever to allow many tourists, not only Italians
00:44but worldwide, to come to Italy, not only to go to Rome, Florence or Venice, but to
00:50go to these territories and from there, as the President said very well, then to grow
00:54the economy through hostels, through hotels, restaurants, but above all also those traditions
01:03of craftsmanship that today are flourishing and important in our territory.
01:07So I believe that for us mayors to be able to count on the prologue is something important,
01:12but above all because Italy is today more than ever always attractive all over the world,
01:16the economic data of tourism show it, which is increasingly frequent in our nation, and
01:21I believe that especially in those territories it can truly represent a milestone and above
01:26all a growth not only from a historical and cultural point of view, but as I said also
01:31from an economic point of view.
01:32And then, to conclude, I believe that even more, after the period that we have lived
01:36from Covid, to enhance this heritage also means to give strength and vigor to the new
01:41generations that today need more than ever to find points on which to form.
01:48Institutions can support, I make a concrete example also because the words fly, the written
01:53ones remain.
01:54I mean, every year we give a contribution for a municipality that has less than 3,000
02:00inhabitants of more than 24,000 euros to the prologue, not only what can be an economic aspect
02:06and then above all the ability to aggregate.
02:09Municipalities, in my opinion, must and will have to support the prologue more and more
02:13because, as I say, they are a value of growth, a value, a multiplier.
02:18The economy is the market, it is the pillar, but I believe that today more than ever what
02:24is important is the social value and today, especially in a very small municipality, to
02:29find oneself around a celebration, an event, an appreciation of a material heritage or
02:35even a manifestation, even a joy, where then there are the typical products, where
02:40you are together, it means making harmony, it means making polis and, as I said before,
02:44today we need it because certainly being well with your mind and with your body also means
02:50lowering health costs because the theme of depression is born especially in the large,
02:55very large centers where people are not valued by a name or by a surname but by a number.
03:00The prologue can also attract additional resources around it.
03:04If we did not have this operational arm that, as President La Spina says, is pure and simple
03:09volunteering, it would be impossible for municipal administrations, especially the small ones,
03:13where the staff is limited, to be able to carry out these initiatives.
