The Malaysian Media Council Bill has received Cabinet approval and will be tabled in Parliament next week, says Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil.  Speaking at the Communications Ministry's weekly press conference on Friday (Dec 6), Fahmi described the development as a positive milestone for the nation’s media landscape. 00:00Thirdly, regarding the approval that has been given by the Prime Minister today,

00:08and this I hope will be a good news for the media,

00:13that is, the Laws of the Malaysian Media Council has been approved by the Prime Minister to be brought to the Parliament.

00:21So we will hold it in the House of Representatives next week.

00:24And if there is time, it will be discussed,

00:29a second reading will be held in this meeting.

00:32If not, it has been arranged to be discussed in the next meeting.

00:37So it's on track, finally.

00:40It has been approved by the Prime Minister.
