00:00The Cooperative Development Authority of Mimaropa continues to encourage
00:05associations to become cooperatives.
00:09This is Dennis Nebrejo of BIA Mimaropa with the national news.
00:15The Cooperative Development Authority or CDA in the Mimaropa region
00:20does not encourage registered associations to be considered as cooperatives
00:24in order to benefit from the wider economic and social benefits
00:28CDA Mimaropa Regional Director Alberto Zavarias gave this initiative
00:34in the last meeting of the new Philippines in Calapan City.
00:38He said that they are active in participating in sessions of associations
00:44such as Sanggunian Bayan and Sanggunian Barangay
00:47to promote the benefits of being a cooperative.
00:52We are accepting that our Provincial Coordinator of the Cooperative Development Authority is there
00:56to guide you.
00:58Do not believe that it is difficult to be registered in the CDA.
01:02Before, it was difficult but this time,
01:04we can help you a lot
01:07so that all of you can be helped as a cooperative.
01:10The CDA explained that although the benefits of being a cooperative are dependent
01:17all cooperatives have one and all purposes
01:21to improve the economic, social and educational conditions of its members.
01:28In the Mimaropa region, there are 1,418 cooperatives that have been registered in the CDA
01:35that have shown continuous acceptance of this model of organization
01:40as a way to strengthen the communities and promote local economies.
01:45The agency continues to encourage associations to open the formation of cooperatives
01:49to show that it is not only contributing to the development of the economy
01:53but it also brings together the members of the community
01:56and strengthens the cooperation of one and all.
