Leeds’ away form proving costly in promotion race

00:00The difference there between home and away form for Leeds, at home as you rightly said

00:06they are chugging along nicely, lots of wins, lots of handsome wins, most recently of course

00:10against Luton a 3-0, very comfortable victory, but then Swansea aside, which even that in

00:16itself was not comfortable at all, given the way that game ended, even the way it started

00:22to be honest as well, it's just not quite there at the moment is it, because of course

00:25you look at Blackburn, 1-0 loss, Millwall, 1-0 loss, Bristol City, 0-0, Sunrun, yes you

00:32should have won that game, but you know what happened happened, 2-2 draw, so they are not

00:38picking up half as many points as they are at home at the moment, away from home, so

00:43why is that, do they just go into away games and is there just a lack of confidence because

00:48they are not at Ellen Road, they haven't got as much of the backing that they have there

00:51or do they just look a bit devoid of ideas and because of the way a team will set up

00:56at home against them to how they will come to Ellen Road, it's something that needs solving

01:02clearly.

01:03Yeah, it absolutely does need solving and you are pretty much bang on right in terms

01:08of twice as many points, I mean at home they have got 22 points from 9 games, in a way

01:11they have got 13 from 9 games, so I mean you are not far wrong there really and that's

01:15what's letting them down and basically that's why they are not in the automatics, alright

01:18it's only a point, but that's why they are not there, home record 22 points is third

01:22best in the division behind Sheffield United and Watford, which might be a bit of a surprise

01:26to some people, but they have been quite good at Vicarage Road and then away from home 13

01:29points is only 6 and all the teams in the promotion mix are above them in terms of the

01:33automatic ones, so that's what's costing them basically and it feels to me when they are

01:38away from home that they just sort of start a little bit too slow, you know, it's sort

01:41of like at Ellen Road, I mean I guess it's sort of, you could say maybe that's inevitable

01:46because they haven't got the crowd that they have got at Ellen Road, like at Ellen Road

01:48it feels like they always start strongly, you know, you are sort of there watching them

01:51in the stand and they always like get on the front foot, they usually always create a chance

01:55very, very early on, more often than not at the moment they get an early goal, you know,

01:58and stuff and like thankfully and obviously that point puts you in the right direction,

02:02but away from home it just, I don't know whether that's by design or whether it's sort of like

02:07to start off solid and keep your shape and stuff and have a sort of foundation to build

02:13from, but it does feel a little bit like it's just a bit too slow to get going away

02:16from home and in both of those last two defeats ultimately they have gone 1-0 down, you know,

02:20and then instead of starting at 0-0 you are chasing the game 1-0 down and then depending

02:23on who you are playing against you are going to face, you know, a massive low block and

02:27you know, Millwall especially, Blackburn obviously came out a little bit more but still had a

02:30lot of men behind the ball and then he got problems really, so yeah, I mean look it's

02:34not something that they are going to be oblivious to obviously, I mean Daniel Farker will look

02:37at the table and he will know the away record obviously and he will be very, very wary of

02:41that and, you know, trying to saw it out and it will be all about, you know, getting

02:43three points when they go to Preston really, let's be honest, I mean that's what it comes

02:46down to now, but it is, it does feel like, well it's there in black and white, it does

02:51feel like, you know, one of the main issues, if not the main issue at the moment which

02:54is sort of holding back this team and that goes back to last season as well a little

02:59bit.
