00:00There has been an RTC on the N18 northbound this morning. Here's what we know so far.
00:07Originally one lane was reported to be closed which was causing 6 miles of traffic congestion.
00:12It's now being reported that the road has been closed on the northbound carriageway
00:16at the A1231 turn off for Sunderland. Traffic has been diverted off and police are advising
00:22motorists to find an alternative route. We have also contacted the ambulance service
00:26and are awaiting a response.
