El prisionero político del 11J Manuel de Jesús Guillén Esplugas falleció el 30 de noviembre en el Combinado del Este, La Habana, como consecuencia de una golpiza, denunciaron familiares de la víctima. "Que todo el mundo se entere de la muerte de mi hijo, que me lo mataron los de la Seguridad del Estado. Quiero justicia en nombre de mi hijo", declaró a ADN Cuba su madre, Dania Esplugas. La organización Justicia 11J igualmente confirmó la muerte del joven de 29 años. Otras fuentes informaron que la golpiza habría ocurrido en una celda de castigo, luego de haber sido capturado tras un intento de fuga.
