00:09Six by Nico in Leeds has launched their Land of Oz menu just in time for the launch of Wicked, the film showing in UK cinemas.
00:19I went to try it out.
00:21The first test when I walk into any establishment is how they react to me. I'm a vegan and I often have a baby in tow.
00:28The staff were extremely accommodating.
00:32So it was time to taste the menu.
00:35The new menu is a taste of the yellow brick road with a chicken liver parfait with pumpkin puree and chutney.
00:43I had the same but without the chicken.
00:46Then we were on to the scarecrow, which involved a crispy straw style side before a magical goat's curd heart, which is sweet and sour, unbrushy, plum and liquid courage.
01:00Liquid courage is like a light vegetable broth. Mine was anyway.
01:05Then the fourth course is a deadly poppy field.
01:09It really was a journey going on inside our mouths as we ventured into the Emerald City.
01:15It's a compact restaurant with an open kitchen, which adds to the ambience.
01:20It was very busy, but that's a good sign, I guess, on a weekday night.
01:25And then finally, for dessert, my friend loved this one.
01:30An apple cremeux, honey mousseline, yoghurt sorbet and lemon gel served with a light and moorish glass of dolce esenza frisante.
01:40Delicious.
