00:00I'm not from South Delhi. I am not like that at all.
00:03Look what you made me do.
00:05Bombay girls have a particular way of talking.
00:07Good morning, captains. I'm Nija Banod. I'm your head purser today.
00:10Hi, this is Souram Kapoor and you're watching me en route.
00:14Which role did you consider was the most challenging for you?
00:17I think Ranjana was in Ranjana.
00:20You know, I was playing against type.
00:24I think with playing Zoya, who was from Banaras.
00:28And, you know, who went to Aligarh University, who went to JNU.
00:36I'm a girl from JVPD scheme.
00:38And so those characters, which are the opposite, like even Bittu from Delhi 6 or
00:45or let's say PRDP.
00:49It's like very different.
00:51Like Bhaag Malka Bhaag, playing the character, you know, Biru from Bhaag Malka Bhaag.
00:56I'm not from, you know, a small town or a small village in Punjab.
01:00I think those those characters are difficult.
01:03Characters like Nija.
01:04Nija was a Bombay girl who went to Manikji Cooper, who sounded a lot like me.
01:09When you, you know, Bombay girls have a particular way of talking.
01:14Ayesha was also difficult or different because I'm not from South Delhi.
01:18And I am not like that at all.
01:22You know, besides her clothes, her personality and my personality were completely different.
01:27So, you know, those every character that I've played has been different.
01:32And everybody thinks it will be Nija, but Nija was something that was
01:35the easiest because it was just a Bombay girl, a regular girl.
01:45I would love to do an action film.
01:51I think it's important to support writers,
01:55especially because every film cannot be made without a writer.
02:00Content is king and a good content will make a good film.
02:07And it can start with a book or it can start with an original screenplay.
02:12So it is the backbone of cinema.
02:14The thing with films is that it's so widespread and so wide-reaching.
02:19A writer, you know, can become way more recognized with films.
02:24And it's a great platform for them.
02:28Is there a book or a film that resonates with my love story?
02:31It was like Serendipity, my husband and I meeting.
02:36We've had a lot of common friends, but we never ever met.
02:42And then we met one day by chance at a bar.
02:46And then, you know, we realized we had so many common friends,
02:48even though we lived in two different cities.
02:50I can't think of anything.
02:51We've had an unusual love story.
