00:00When I first got that message from the producer, my heart just sank.
00:09It was like our worst possible nightmare, well, second, coming true, having to relive
00:13what had happened over and over.
00:18It's one thing, you know, if the victims participate, but you have these families who aren't even
00:29told that it's happening and it's just, they are reliving literally the worst moments of
00:35their life.
00:36We had like a family meeting and we all talked about it and we just decided we did not want
00:54to go through that again and we didn't want to give his name any more attention.
01:09We didn't hear anything for, I think it was almost a year until we saw the trailer ourselves.
01:15Shock is definitely like the best way to describe it, like everything just feels like drained
01:19from you.
01:28She's so crazy and fun and just a great person all around to be around, to like spend time
01:36with.
01:37We were so close, best friends, you know, and I don't even, you know, if this documentary
01:41had not been made, like it wouldn't have been a problem that our family and the close-knit
01:45community are the only people who knew that because, I mean, we're the only, we were what
01:50mattered to her.
01:51That's part of the reason, I guess, that we didn't participate in it was because we were,
01:57you know, we were dealing, we were dealing with what happened and we were comfortable
02:02being the ones who knew about her.
02:08I just kind of posted that first initial TikTok just to kind of vent, just to air out how
02:13I felt about the entire situation.
02:15It wasn't intentional that I started advocating.
02:18It just kind of happened even before the TikTok, we were messaging Hulu and calling Hulu and
02:23trying to get, as soon as we saw the trailer, we were trying to get them to pull it.
02:29We, you know, shared our disdain and how we did not want it aired.
02:35You know, we heard nothing back.
02:36I decided, well, she, I guess I will be her voice.
02:42So I'll speak for her since, you know, the Hulu documentary is out there.
02:46There's nothing I can do about it now, despite my efforts.
02:50I'll just say what I can and share what I can about her to the people who want to listen
02:54since apparently there was a lot of them.
02:56I started a petition actually, like after my TikTok was already at like 10 million views,
03:02thousands of people commented on their trailer and on their TikTok videos, asking them to
03:08take it down.
03:12We took my sister and then he took on this role in this movie for entertainment to other
03:22people and it's only further hurting our family.
03:24The victims are the ones, the ones who are hurting and the scenarios, I think that they
03:28deserve to be in the spotlight more than anything.
03:31I mean, I know people have this fascination with crimes that people have committed, but
03:36like you need to give the victims and the victims' families the light.
03:42Someone commented on one of my TikToks and told me that Delta was airing it on their
03:55flights.
03:56And so I reached out to them, they called me and we spoke and they were so kind and
04:03so considerate and they were like, we are going to take this down.
04:06We don't agree with that.
04:07So, you know, they pulled it from their flights.
04:09That was amazing.
04:10That was a huge win for us.
04:23They could use another name, like it's really as simple as that or other pictures, like
04:28they don't need to, they don't need to give out the details of a family that families
04:32don't want given out.
04:33Many people have seen the documentary.
04:34We still don't want it on there.
04:36It still hurts us to know that it's there.
04:40I hope that, you know, these industries think about other people before they do this to
04:45other families.
