00:04Netflix released a trailer for its upcoming Marilyn Monroe movie,

00:07but we need to talk about the fact that it's probably not going to be the film you're expecting.

00:12Blonde, which stars Ana de Armas, traces the life of the late Hollywood icon,

00:16but this adaptation is based on a fictional novel that reimagines Monroe's life, as opposed to a standard biography.

00:23Unlike other recent biopics such as Elvis and Oppenheimer, much of this story will be embellished,

00:28which has led people to question the impression audiences will then have of Monroe.

00:32Another concern that has arisen is the explicit nature of the film.

00:36This will be the first Netflix original rated NC-17, which is due to the violent and sexual content throughout.

00:42Director Andrew Dominick has responded to the discourse surrounding the film fairly bluntly.

00:47Quote, it's a demanding movie, he said. If the audience doesn't like it, that's the audience's problem.

00:54The film is set to debut at the Venice Film Festival next month and drop on Netflix on September 28th.
