Netflix’s next true-crime series

Fresh off the success of their Jeffrey Dahmer series, Netflix and Ryan Murphy are back with another chilling true-crime series.

00:05But we need to talk about his newest true crime series launching this week

00:09The Watcher is a seven-part series about a couple who move into their dream home in the New Jersey suburbs with their two children

00:16However, soon after moving in they start receiving letters from someone called the Watcher

00:21The note stated it was their duty to quote watch over the house and began stalking the family

00:26The couple emailed the previous owners of the property who said they had received a similar note just before they moved out

00:32But hadn't experienced anything like that in the 23 years

00:35They had lived in the home. The thriller series is inspired by real events that took place in 2014

00:40Derek and Maria Broaddus received threatening letters that involved details about their children and new house

00:45The couple involved the police and private investigators

00:48But to this day the Watcher has never been identified

00:51In 2019 the family moved out and rented the home to another family who haven't reported any mysterious notes of their own
