00:15all in protest of new oil production sites.
00:18So who's doing the protests?
00:20Just Stop Oil, a UK-based activist coalition.
00:23Their goal is to stop the government from creating any new licenses for the production of fossil fuels,
00:28and they're hoping to raise awareness for their cause with these civil resistance protests.
00:33The group claims the protests are a powerful way for people to non-violently demand their rights, freedom, and justice.
00:39And while they are getting a lot of media coverage, it's not yet clear if the stunts will spark any real change.

This sounds more like temper tantrums vs “non violent” protests

They should be put in to prison for damaging masterpieces. They should come up with ways to replace oil use. Just think, was oil used to make any of the products they used to damage the art etc,? Also how did they get to these places? What is in their homes? How about in their clothes, shoes etc. They are awful.

The rest of the story… He then goes on a rant about how efforts to move away from fossil fuels are a fool's errand because it would take enormous work and decades to implement. He also decries that everything we consume and use depends on or is made out of the very thing people who are concerned about the effects they have on the environment use every day. He basically parrots the "we should somewhat improve society" meme, but seriously. He concludes his diatribe, saying, "And you know what the kicker is? We're gonna run out of it before we find its replacement … the thing that's going to kill us all [is not the carbon emissions], it's running out before we find an alternative. And believe me, if Exxon thought them f--king things [windmills] were the future, they'd be putting them all over the godd--n place. Getting oil is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. We don't do it because we like it. We do it because we've run out of options."

From ‘Landman’ episode 3…(debate about oil production, energy and the environmental impact) He explains that oil firms control the enormous windmills, which have concrete foundations 12 feet deep and occupy a third of an acre. He says the oil fields are completely off the grid and powered by these windmills. Rebecca asks Tommy to explain how wind energy is bad for the environment, and Tommy obliges. “You have any idea how much diesel we had to burn to mix that much concrete?" Norris says in the clip. "Or make that steel? Or haul this s--t out here and put it together with a 450-foot crane? You want to guess how much oil it takes to lubricate that f--king [windmill]? Or winterize it? In its 20-year lifespan, it won't offset the carbon footprint of making it. And don't even get me started on solar panels and the lithium in your Tesla batteries."

Fossil fuels are really not good for anything ☝🏽 but it’s no excuse to act like a thug… poor excuses when there are other ways to get the message through instead of creating violent behavior that’ll also influence our future… 🤦🏽‍♀️ sad
