00:00The first day of swimming competitions in Puerto Princesa, Palawan was a hot topic of discussion
00:07in Batang Pinoy 2024 this week in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
00:12This is what teammate Daryl Oclares has to say.
00:17More than 2,000 young tankers participated in the first day of swimming competitions this week in Batang Pinoy 2024
00:26held at Ramon V. Mitra Sports Complex in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
00:32One of the swimmers who swam fast was 15-year-old swimmer from Taguig, Ashton Clyde Jose.
00:41In a time of 2 minutes and 14.08 seconds, Jose won the boys 14-15 200-meter long course individual medley.
00:52According to Jose, a member of the Junior Swimming Team of Culeo de San Juan de Letran,
00:57it took a lot of practice for him to win this medal.
01:02I do gym, strength and conditioning 2 times a week.
01:06I also do double training 2-3 times a week.
01:10I do training every week for 6 days.
01:14Then I rest for just one day.
01:16It was also a big advantage for Jose to have his exposure in NCAA where he was able to collect several medals.
01:25Four bronze medals.
01:28200 IM, 200 breaststroke, 4x50 relay and 4x1 relay.
01:37This is just the 2nd day of the competition this Monday.
01:41So there are still a lot of chances for our young swimmers to reach their goal of winning this medal.
01:48From here in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, I'm Daryl Oclares for Pambansang TV in Bago, Philippines.
