00:00Goa is the home of the hippie culture in India, we see tourists from all over the world come
00:10down here to ride your classic 350s, to ride your scooters in this beautiful, beautiful
00:15place.
00:16And now Royal Enfield to pay tribute to that, to pay homage to that, has brought out this
00:20beautiful style bobber, the Goan Classic 350.
00:25In this video, I'm going to take you guys around this whole motorcycle to show what
00:28it has to offer you and what makes it stand out from the current Classic 350 that's there
00:33in the market.
00:34Welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Vedant Johari and let's jump right into this video.
00:47So now what makes this stand out from the current going Classic 350?
00:51Let's start with the front of the motorcycle, the wheels.
00:55Well, this is the first Royal Enfield with the J-Series platform to come with a tubeless
01:00spoke trim.
01:01We haven't seen this on any other models and this is the first one to see it.
01:05Second, the mudguard that we get, as you can see, it's an extended mudguard with a mudflap
01:09located right here and that also is different from the current going Classic 350.
01:14Third, the footpegs that we get, these are more front set and these are a little wider
01:19than the Classic 350 again.
01:23Next up is the ape handlebars, as you can see, these handlebars are much higher and
01:28come in a U-shape, now to be exact, the handlebars are 100mm higher than that on the Classic
01:34350.
01:35Third, the single seat, now we do get a pillion seat but that's only as an accessory, however,
01:41right from the showroom, this is what you get.
01:45Next up is the rear fender, the rear fender that we get is mounted onto our swingarm and
01:52that also makes it stand out and finally, the last thing is the exhaust.
01:57This is a slash cut exhaust at the end as you can see and that is also not seen on other
02:02Royal Enfield models.
02:04So now what makes it similar to the Classic 350?
02:08Well the suspension setup that we get is the same, the frame that we get is the same and
02:12the engine also that we get is the same.
02:14It's the same 349cc air-cooled engine that puts out around 20hp and 27Nm of torque.
02:21Now coming to the design aspect of this, well as you can see, this follows a proper
02:27bobber-themed motorcycle with the higher handlebars, with a longer wheelbase, the single seat,
02:32the floating single seat, the dual shock at the rear, the exhaust, everything just makes
02:38it stand out as a bobber.
02:41Also one thing that I'm missing are these white wall tyres that we get at the front
02:45and the rear, just to bring out that whole classic appeal, just to bring out that whole
02:48retro appeal of this motorcycle.
02:51So now apart from that, coming to the colour options on this, well this is available in
02:54four colour options, one is this beautiful black and red that you're seeing, another
02:59option that we get is a teal colour option, then we get a pure plain black and we also
03:07get a beautiful beautiful purple.
03:09Now the purple is honestly my favourite, but let us know your favourite in the comment
03:14section below.
03:15Now coming on to the design, as you can see, well it comes in this really nice red and
03:20black tulle-toned finish and the Royal Enfield logo that we get has been modified just to
03:24suit the aesthetics of this motorcycle and to bring out that whole retro appeal of it.
03:29Now we get a centred spool cap on this and the tank is in a shape of a peanut or a teardrop
03:35up to you.
03:37Now coming to that, as I said, the hood pegs are a little forward placed to give us a little
03:43more relaxed feel for when we're riding in Goa.
03:46Now apart from that, looking at it, we get the Goan Classic badging located right here,
03:51a lot of piano black elements, a lot of gloss black elements on this vehicle, at the front
03:57we get 41mm telescopic forks, at the rear we get twin shock absorbers and now coming
04:02to the tyre size, well at the front, as I mentioned, it's a tubeless spoke tyre, front
04:07and rear, this is a 100 section tyre that comes in 19 inches.
04:13Now the rear tyre that we get is a 16-inch tyre but has a 130 section.
04:19Now the rear tyre is also a tubeless spoke rim, so now the rear fender that we get also
04:24comes in the dual-tone finish of red and black with the red stripe coming down the centre,
04:29just really looks beautiful if you ask me.
04:32Now the Royal Enfield badging we also see located right here and looking at the rear
04:38tail light, well, I forgot to mention this comes with all LED lighting from our front
04:43headlights to our indicators to the rear tail lamp to the rear indicators, everything is
04:48LED on this.
04:50Now we get a sari guard located at the rear, brilliant footrest just in case you opt for
04:55your rear seat.
04:57Now coming to the seating positioning, coming to how comfortable it is, well, as you can
05:03see, so for example, I am 6 foot 1 and as you can see, I'm extremely comfortable on
05:09this motorcycle, I can rest my foot down with ease and it's honestly a very upright riding
05:15position, you're very relaxed, your body is in strain and it just suits the whole Goa
05:23vibe, it just is a motorcycle for Goa, for when you want to chill and ride, for when
05:28you just want to have a good time and take in your surroundings.
05:31So now let's move on to the instrument cluster of this motorcycle, well, the instrument cluster
05:35is the same that we get on the Classic 350, it gets a semi-digital instrument cluster
05:40with the speedometer in analogue and all our other readings are in digital and this also
05:45comes with Royal Enfield's trip meter which gives us turn-by-turn navigation.
05:50So I've already told you guys about the engine specs at the beginning of the video, 349cc
05:54air-cooled engine that puts out around 20hp and 27Nm of torque.
05:59So now let's talk about how the motorcycle is to ride, well, we've ridden it for around
06:0360-70km inside Goa through villages, we've taken it on a ferry, we've done all sorts
06:09of things with this and all in all, we had a really, really good time on the motorcycle,
06:15it's not too powerful, you aren't gunning it, you're just relaxing, you're taking the
06:20slow life and you're having fun while riding this.
06:23Suspension setup is good, although the rear suspension may be a little stiff for your
06:27liking, however, it's not really coming into the way of your riding, it's not really hindering
06:33your riding.
06:34Now in terms of front suspension, front suspension really eats up the bumps well, it's really
06:39comfortable even when you have to brake, it doesn't dive down a lot, nor does it just
06:43stay in the same place, there is a little bit of movement that gives us that extra comfort,
06:48the Ape handlebars are just brilliant, your arms are upright, they aren't low, you aren't
06:54putting any pressure on your wrist, on your elbows, you're just extremely comfortable
06:58while seated on this.
07:00Now in terms of how it is to lean and all of that, well, this motorcycle isn't really
07:04made for leaning, isn't made for aggressive cornering, but if you do want to have fun
07:08that once in a while, it is possible, you can lean it not extensively, but you can have
07:14a little fun taking corners a little quick, however, more than that, you will find yourself
07:20scraping some part of the motorcycle for sure.
07:23So now apart from that, I told you this comes with a slash-cut exhaust, so let's listen
07:28to the exhaust note of this motorcycle.
07:40So let us know your thoughts of the exhaust note in the comment section below.
07:44So now finally, let's talk about the ground clearance and the wheelbase.
07:47Well, the wheelbase is exactly 10mm longer than that of the Classic 350 and the ground
07:53clearance comes in at a 170mm.
07:56Now 170mm may be a little restricted, but that is still alright.
08:01It's not too low that you find yourself scraping on every single speed breaker.
08:06So now a Royal Enfield motorcycle has to come with accessories.
08:09So what are the accessories available on the Gordon Classic, I'm going to tell you right
08:12now.
08:13First up, the handlebars.
08:14You can opt for a lower handlebar in case you find this a little uncomfortable.
08:18The lower handlebars are similar to the Bullitt 350's handlebars.
08:22Apart from that, you can opt for a pillion seat and you can also opt for a more cushioned
08:26rider and pillion seat if that's what you want.
08:29Third, the footpegs.
08:31You can either get these footpegs or you can get a broader footpeg with more cushioning
08:35on it for a more comfortable ride.
08:38And also you can opt for crash guards and engine protectors if you need.
08:42Apart from the engine protection, you can opt for a bar end mirror or you can also opt
08:46for more comfortable throttle grips.
08:49So let us know which one you would opt for in the comment section below.
08:52So all in all, that was our review of the Royal Enfield Gordon Classic 350.
08:57I hope you guys enjoyed this video as much as I enjoyed riding this motorcycle.
09:02Stay tuned to Drivespark for more reviews.
09:05I'm Vedant Johari, signing out.
