00:00I know many of you are feeling uncertain or unsettled by what you saw earlier today, but
00:29I am here to tell you that today was a good day.
00:36Today was the first day of a new era.
00:42For as long as we can remember, everyone that went out to clean died on that hillside, killed
00:51by the dangerous toxins of an unsafe world.
00:55But today, that changed.
00:58Sheriff Nichols asked to go out.
01:02Sheriff Nichols went out.
01:06She chose not to clean.
01:09She's a traitor!
01:10No!
01:11She was not a traitor.
01:14Julianne Nichols was a fighter.
01:17I disagreed with her about many things, but I respected her.
01:22And never more so than I did today.
01:26She's alive!
01:28No.
01:29No, I wish that were true.
01:35I really wish it were.
01:40But she died a hero to the silo!
01:47It's impossible!
01:48Do you all want to listen to these gentlemen yell?
01:54Or do you want to hear why Julianne was a hero?
02:01Before she went out, I asked Sheriff Nichols if we could seal her suit with a new kind
02:10of tape, a tape recently developed by our brilliant suit technicians.
02:16And she, she courageously agreed.
02:25Her trip over that hill proved that our new tape provided better protection against the
02:33dangers outside.
02:35And that is the first step forward in our lifetime!
02:43And we are not finished.
02:52We will keep finding ways to make our suits better and stronger and to produce tape that
03:01may someday protect all of us from the dangers outside and bring us closer to our ultimate
03:08goal of safely leaving the silo!
03:26I'd like to thank the mayor for this exemplary new development and commend him for his decisive
03:36leadership at this critical time.
03:39I hereby decree by the powers given to me by the pact, five credits be bestowed upon
03:47every household to celebrate this great achievement.
03:53It is only hope that this new tape will lead to a new day for each and every one of us.
03:59They're lying!
