00:00I'm Chief Superintendent Neil Blackford from Salford District Commander.
00:03Tragically today we found the remains of what we believe to be a young baby on
00:07Ravens Craig Road in Salford. We have a scene in place and we will likely see an
00:12increased presence of officers in the area while we carry out inquiries to
00:16understand the circumstances. At this stage we are following several lines of
00:21inquiry and we're working with local partner agencies to understand who this
00:24baby could be, how long they've been here and how they've come to sadly die.
00:30We are now calling this baby, Baby A. All of this is extremely sensitive and this
00:35investigation needs to be handled with the utmost of care and it's going to
00:39take time. We know this news will devastate our communities and while we
00:45do not have all the answers to the questions yet I want to reassure
00:48residents that we will do all we can to find out what has happened here. The most
00:53important thing for us right now is to find out answers for Baby A and I would
00:57urge anyone who has any information to get in touch with us. Even the most minor
01:03detail could be crucial to our investigation. If you've seen anyone in
01:08the area over the past few days or know who the parents could be please call us
01:13as soon as you can. As soon as we're in a position to confirm further details
01:17about the circumstances we will do so. If you could call and quote log 1319
01:24of today's date on 101 or do so anonymously on Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
