00:00From Austin to Nashville. Look who I got with me. How you doing, girl?

00:03Hey, what's up?

00:04Good to see you. You've been dropping some new music.

00:06So talk to me about why you put a deluxe version of your album out a couple weeks ago.

00:10You know what? I had a lot more to say, is the honest answer.

00:13I wrote these songs after What Happens Now came out.

00:15And I was like, this feels like the same era.

00:18It's about the same person, if I'm being honest.

00:20So it kind of just fit in with the same, you know, same era.

00:23And I felt like I was in the middle of the madness.

00:24And it just felt like it all belonged together.

00:27And you said the same person. Are we talking about maybe a heartbreaker from Tennessee?

00:30Oh, we sure are talking about the heartbreaker from Tennessee.

00:33It's actually the first song I wrote for What Happens Now.

00:35And it never ended up coming out.

00:36And so that was kind of like the final conclusion of everything.

00:39No, yeah, he's eaten it up, too. I told him it was coming out.

00:41And he was like, oh, and I'm like, oh, my God.

00:44How is it to perform like personal music like that for your fans?

00:47Like, does that register with you on your own stage?

00:49Yes, I have to take songs out of my set list sometimes if I'm like really going through it.

00:54I have this song called 42 that it's just my favorite song I've ever written.

00:58And I went through kind of a gnarly breakup three-ish months ago.

01:01Okay.

01:02I could not sing it without crying.

01:04Oh, no.

01:04So I had to take it out of the set for a couple weeks.

01:06But now we're back.

01:07Okay, fans, you might hear 42. You might not. Depends on what's going on.

01:10Depends how my heart's feeling.

01:11It sounds like three and a half months ago. Are we going out drinking tonight, girl?

01:14Girl, you know it. Shots on me. Open bar, baby.

01:18And I got to ask you about the Christmas spirit that's around the corner.

01:20So what are some Christmas songs you're listening to when you're getting in the spirit?

01:22Oh, my God. I love Mommy's Kissing Santa Claus.

01:27Oh, that is a classic.

01:28No one talks about that song.

01:29Nobody talks about it. I mean, because it's a little strange, but we love it, though.

01:31It is.

01:32It's like, it's fun to sing.

01:33I know. And Jackson 5, like, did that cover of it, and it's so good. Oh, my God.

01:36It's so good.

01:37Love that song.
