November 19th marks the 1,000th day since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. To honour the grim milestone, Ukraine's colours shine bright on the buildings of Brussels' EU institutions.

00:00EU buildings across Brussels have been lit up in the colours of the Ukrainian flag to
00:06mark the 1,000th day since Russia invaded in 2022.
00:12As of August this year, almost 12,000 civilians were reported as killed in Ukraine, according
00:18to UN figures.
00:22UNICEF says that figure includes 2,406 children.
00:28In Kyiv, a memorial to those lost continues to grow, with national flags placed to honour
00:33each soldier killed while fighting Russia.
