00:00Pro-Ukraine protests have taken place in capitals across Europe as the thousandth day since
00:07the Russian invasion approaches.
00:09People from Italy's Ukrainian community were joined by Italians to stage a rally just a
00:14few hundred meters from the Russian embassy in Rome.
00:17Many protesters wore Ukrainian flags and held banners and placards calling for a stop to
00:22the invasion.
00:23There were similar scenes in Portugal with dual pro-Ukraine rallies in the capital Lisbon
00:41and in the city of Porto.
00:44Demonstrators held Ukrainian and European Union flags and demanded an immediate ceasefire
00:48in the country.
00:50Meanwhile, in the Finnish capital Helsinki, it was Russian nationals on the street protesting
00:54against the war.
00:56Protesters urged European governments to continue supporting Ukraine regardless of any potential
01:01change to U.S. policy under incoming President Donald Trump.
01:16But it was a protest of a different kind in the Czech Republic, where around 200 people
01:21gathered in Prague to oppose the government sending aid to Ukraine.
01:25Since the Russian invasion, the Czech government has been a staunch supporter of Ukraine, providing
01:30the country with both humanitarian and military aid.
01:33The Ministry of Defense said in a statement last year that Prague had sent military aid
01:37worth more than 158 million euros to Ukraine.
