Amazon Faces Security Warnings Over TikTok Deal in House China Committee Meeting

Amazon representatives recently met with the House China committee to address concerns over a shopping partnership with TikTok. The August agreement allows TikTok users, whose app is owned by China’s ByteDance, to link accounts with Amazon for direct purchases. The Select Committee warned Amazon that partnering with TikTok is risky due to the threat that the app poses to national security. President-elect Donald Trump now supports "saving" TikTok, a shift possibly influenced by discussions with billionaire Jeff Yass, whose firm holds stakes in ByteDance.
