What is the solution to climate change? Is it real or just a made-up lie?

As the COP29 currently takes place, we found out people’s views on climate change and what solutions could be considered.

00:00I think it's very frightening, especially for our children and our grandchildren.

00:09And I was only reading in the papers this week that because we haven't had any wind,

00:15all the turbines haven't been going, so there's a stop on that sort of bit of renewable energy.

00:21I honestly don't know what the solution is. I do find it frightening, it's scary.

00:29Concern about climate change is the one, the impact we have in Britain is about 1%.

00:34And the general opinion is the concerns of how much increase on the carbon tax levy will be for the 1%.

00:41I totally agree, I'm totally on board with it, climate change and everything,

00:44as long as everyone's involved, America, China.

00:48You know, when it comes to protesting, we'd like to see China on board,

00:51we'd like to see the major people contributing to it while they're increasing their carbon emissions.

00:57Our 1% input, you know, in lines with how much it's going to cost to do it is the biggest problem we have.

01:03You know, the cost of, you know, my fuel bill's gone up, my heating bill's gone up and everything,

01:08and I totally agree, but it's the balance between how much is it going to cost

01:11and the legacy for our children, that's our concern.

01:15Worrying, and I think that when I think about my daughter and my grandchildren and what is to come for them,

01:24I think something needs to be done about it.

01:29Well, I often look at cars on the road and see the size of them.

01:34I think that's one, there are so many things, and if everybody did their bit, it would happen.

01:43But I don't know, we seem to have become quite a selfish society.

01:49I think things have changed since Covid, people have gone into themselves rather than come out,

01:56you know, but I never have hope.

02:00Well, I think it should have been looked at years ago.

02:03I think people are putting their head in the sand about it all.

02:08I don't agree with all the pylons going across Lincolnshire because that's our breadbasket.

02:14I would like everything to go underground, or we would have solar panels on roofs,

02:22and not just houses, but on barns and also warehouses, and that sort of place.

02:33It's a lot more than we're doing this at the moment.

02:35I think really we're hanging back, nothing seriously is being challenged.

02:41There's all sorts of things going on, and you hear about them, but the government,

02:45and I voted Labour, is not really getting their act together and challenging it properly.

02:52That's my view.

02:54Concerning, isn't it?

02:57We've got to look after the planet, and since the industrial age,

03:02we've done nothing but pump out carbon dioxide, so it has to stop.

03:07I think climate change is very important,

03:10and that builders should be building new homes with solar panels on their roofs.
