Mau y Ricky Share They're Going To Announce Their Tour Next Week

Mau y Ricky chatted with Billboard’s Jessica Roiz on the red carpet of the 2024 Latin Grammys.

00:00We are here at the 2024 Latin Grammys with Mau and Ricky, three-time nominees,

00:05including your album Hotel Caracas, one of our favorites at Billboard. Tell us about this nomination.

00:10We're so excited. We're so proud of these three nominations. We're proud of this album. We're

00:16proud of this work. Hopefully it comes back home with us, the award tonight, but if not,

00:20we're already very proud of the work that we've done, what this represents for our career and

00:25what it represents for our country. So yeah, hopefully we can take it. It'd be a lie to tell

00:31you that I don't want to win it. I definitely do want to win it. Yeah, it'd be amazing.

00:44That is an even song of the year there with Elena Rose. I think that's incredible. Like,

00:48how do you guys feel when you saw that? It was like almost all your colleagues, honestly.

00:52La verdad, it feels beautiful. I feel like there is something happening in the Latin,

00:56sorry, in the Venezuelan, I guess, movement, right? And that is exciting to be a part of.

01:03I believe that Venezuela has always had extremely talented musicians. And I think that being a part

01:10of this generation and what's happening is something that means a lot. And I think it's

01:15just the beginning. This year, it was a lot of us, but I believe that next year and each year

01:19is going to be a lot more. All right. So I need to know about this Hotel Caracas era with,

01:24you know, when are we, you know, what's next? What follows? I mean, next year,

01:28are we still going to have the suits? I need to know. So we're going to have,

01:31we're going to have Livelulas, which is a song that's coming out today. It's kind of in the

01:35same universe. We're going to announce our tour next week. So we're going to continue this Hotel

01:39Caracas era for a minute, and then we'll be back. Probably going to be wearing the suits in the

01:44concerts and in red carpets and stuff. We might start changing it up starting next year. But we

01:49wanted to, yeah, we wanted to kind of like, we'll see, we'll leave it as a trademark. And once that

01:55I started seeing or hearing people say like, oh, Maui Ricky, the guys with the suits, you know,

01:59since I was in some, since I'm hearing that already, I'm like, maybe it's time to just use

02:03it in the shows and start changing it up. So we actually just did a list of like for Halloween,

02:07of Halloween costumes. And I was like, we need Maui Ricky in their Hotel Caracas era. That is,

02:14I can't. Something so many people dressed up like this. It's easy. All you got to do is wear

02:18suit with a tie and with shorts and some converse and you're ready. Exactly. And the mustache.
