00:00President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has reaffirmed the Philippines' position remains unchanged

00:06despite China's objection to two new laws,

00:09the Philippine Maritime Zones Act and the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act.

00:15These laws are designed to strengthen the country's ability to protect its territorial waters,

00:20including the West Philippine Sea, which China illegally claims.

00:25In response to China's release of baselines around Scarborough Shoal,

00:29President Marcos emphasized the Philippines does not agree with China's definition of sovereign territory

00:36and will continue to defend its claims.

00:55President Marcos, Jr. has reaffirmed the Philippine Maritime Zones Act and the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act.
