00:13Today, the bloodletting program will take place where 300 blood donors are expected to be selected here in iAcademy, Makati City.
00:25The Joint Bloodletting Program is led by the Dogong Buhay Movement,
00:31whose target is to collect blood from blood donors for the additional supply that is needed.
00:37The bloodletting program is led by the Dogong Buhay Founder and Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amena Pangandamanaprograma,
00:44along with the Philippine Coast Guard led by Admiral Ronnie Hill-Gavan, Philippine National Police, Philippine Red Cross, and iAcademy.
00:53Last month, the Dogong Buhay Movement conducted the Blood Donation Drive in the province of La Union,
00:59where the target is to help those affected by dengue, especially now that it's the rainy season.
01:06According to the Department of Health, last October,
01:10there were almost 270,000 people affected by dengue this year,
01:14which is more than 82% compared to last year in the same month.
01:21The Dogong Buhay Bloodletting Program is led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.,
01:28to help those in need, especially in emergencies.
01:32It is also included in the Republic Act No. 7719 or the National Blood Services Act of 1994,
01:39which promotes voluntary blood donation for sufficient and safe supply of blood.
01:47Diane, blood donors from the Philippine Coast Guard have arrived,
01:51and the Philippine Red Cross is currently setting up for the bloodletting program.
