00:00Annick Playhouse Concert Band celebrated their 30th anniversary with a special concert showcasing

00:06music from the many films and TV shows shot in Northumberland. The Northumberland on-screen

00:12themed show included famous pieces from Harry Potter, Downton Abbey, Jurassic Park and more,

00:18with each one having its own link to the region.

00:21So I had this idea, I'm a big big fan of film music and all that kind of genre of stuff

00:27and at some point I just had this idea for a concert because Northumberland has been

00:33used for so many films, so many big blockbusters, I think people have seen Dungeons and Dragons

00:38being filmed up here recently, Indiana Jones, Transformers, all of these big films choosing

00:43to film up here. And then there's also the local Vira who's filmed here all the time,

00:47people love these shows and there's some really good music that goes with a lot of these things

00:51and it was this idea of oh maybe we can do a concert that brings all of this together,

00:56celebrates Northumberland and also has some really really epic, fantastic music.

01:01It's been an exciting challenge, we're always battling to get players to join the band,

01:07if you look at the demographic of the band, it's anybody from 83 down to about 22 or we

01:13need to reduce the age group, but it's been a good challenge to bring the musicians and

01:19carry the musical journey forward for the band.

01:24It's grown slightly over the years but it's shrunk over the years as well, I think when

01:28the band was first formed we have some family members in the band who have been here for

01:3230 years and when they were young girls they joined the band and there was 50 odd players,

01:38it's shrunk in terms of numbers yes over the years, but we find there are not as many children

01:43coming through the school system that play musical instruments. So we are representing

01:50Northumberland, we are representing Annick and the Playhouse, but it's so nice to be

01:56able to do a themed concert about Northumberland, it's super.
