00:00President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s administration is confident that the remaining guerrilla fronts

00:06of the Communist New People's Army, or NPA, in the Philippines will be eliminated by year-end.

00:13Armed forces of the Philippines' chief general, Romeo Browner Jr., reported a significant

00:19reduction in NPA strength from almost 3,000 members in 2023 to almost 2,000 this year,

00:27and a decrease in guerrilla fronts from seven to four. That many insurgents are expressing

00:34willingness to surrender, and the government continues combat operations while offering

00:40reintegration incentives through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program,

00:46or ECLIP. The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, or NTF-LCAC,

00:54stressed ongoing vigilance and support for community development programs.
