00:29The Coast Guard reported receiving a distress call at 4.33 a.m., indicating that the 129-ton

00:35fishing boat was sinking.

00:37According to crew members, the vessel capsized and sank suddenly as the catch was being transferred

00:43to a transport ship.

00:45At the time of the incident, two crew members were inside the boat, while the others were

00:49on deck.

00:50The sinking occurred approximately 24 kilometers off Byung, a small island near Jeju Island.

00:57The fishing boat had a registered crew of 27, comprising 16 South Koreans and 11 foreign

01:03nationals, two of whom are among the missing.

01:07President Yoon Suk-yol ordered all available resources and personnel to be mobilized for

01:12the rescue effort, according to his office.

01:16The Coast Guard deployed 18 vessels and five aircraft to the scene, while the Navy added

01:21six vessels, a patrol aircraft and a helicopter to assist in the search and rescue operations.
