00:00What about NIL when it comes to all of this, who's somebody who's probably spoken with

00:08a lot of coaches, kids, you know, parents and all of this.

00:13I think we all, when we talk about NIL, we think about the Chaudhuri Sanders, the Libby

00:17Dunes and you see how much money they're making.

00:20Is it affecting, you know, these top junior recruits yet?

00:25Have we gotten to that point where the Miles Russell, the Tyler Watts, are these players

00:30now or is the recruitment change compared to how it used to be with this NIL being a

00:35component?

00:36Well, so I have to be careful because we know that coaches aren't supposed to be talking

00:40about prospective student athletes.

00:42But I think the very best example is going on right now with the Blades Brown sweepstakes

00:52and several big schools are up for him, but it's tricky.

00:56And I know a lot of coaches, it's provided or produced some stress because Blades Brown

01:01is going to demand six figures per year probably to get him to come to school someplace.

01:08And that's on the high side of men's golfers.

01:11I only know of probably two or three that are around that hundred K above mark.

01:16I think most of your average power five players are in the 10s to 20s.

01:23There's probably a good handful of all Americans that are in your 40s to 50s to 60s.

01:29But Blades Brown, I know maybe not for a fact, but some good substantiated rumors that it

01:36is going to be a six figure deal wherever he goes NIL wise.

01:40And it's tricky because this is a kid who's already gone to Q school this year.

01:45Doesn't predict to stay more than a year or two in college, though, with the PGA Tour,

01:53you accelerated maybe that if he does well in the amateur events or earn some points

01:59for that, maybe that talks him into staying longer.

02:02But I think it's just it's so much money to invest in just one player, especially one

02:09that's maybe not as committed to staying and contributing to the program long term, unlike

02:15maybe another guy like a Tyler Watt, so you could probably get and he's going to play

02:19four years or Luke Colton or someone like that.

02:23And I don't want to discredit Blades because he is he's amazing.

02:26He's a great talent.

02:27We saw what he's done on the PGA Tour already.

02:31He's probably going to be on the Walker Cup team if he's an amateur next year invited

02:36to that practice session.

02:37So but is he worth it?

02:40I don't think any golfer is worth a hundred K, at least from the school.
