00:06that was held for the analysis and training

00:08for the railway workforce

00:10under the Department of Transportation.

00:22joined together for the 2nd Philippine Railway Conference that day.

00:24The theme is Reinforcing Safety and Security

00:27in the Philippine Railway Sector.

00:29The PhilRailCon is the premier networking

00:31and collaboration event

00:32of the Philippine Railways Institute or PRI

00:35that discusses the latest trends

00:37and developments in the railway operation

00:39and maintenance workforce.

00:40This was also the first conference

00:42that was held for the research and training

00:44for the railway workforce

00:46under the Department of Transportation.

00:48According to Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista,

00:51more than 3,300 rail workers

00:54were trained by the PRI

00:56in the middle of the big-ticket railway projects in the country.

00:59At the same time, they will issue

01:01the Occupational Safety and Health Policy

01:03for the railway sector.

01:05This policy will mandate the protection

01:07and benefits of the rail workers

01:10to incentivize them to do their best at all times

01:14and ensure the safety and security

01:16of every passenger.

01:18The PRI's training modules were carefully digitized

01:21to comply with global standards,

01:24as well as the 30-year master plan

01:25created by the Japan International Cooperation Agency

01:29to speed up the system of transportation in the country.

01:40we can reclaim the glory of Philippine Railways

01:43through modern and eco-friendly trails,

01:46comfortable and efficient rides

01:48while maintaining its status

01:50as the most affordable public transport.

01:54For now, LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3

01:56are the first to serve the public

01:59while the construction of MRT-7,

02:02North-South Commuter Railway System,

02:04Metro Manila Subway,

02:06LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project,

02:08as well as MRT-3 Rehabilitation and Maintenance.

02:12MRT-4, PNR South Long Haul Project,

02:15and Mindanao Railway Project Phase 1

02:17are in the pre-construction stage.

02:19With their help,

02:21public transportation will be faster and safer.
