00:06Recent reports from Variety informs that Warner Bros Pictures has pushed the release date of Bong Joon-Ho's Mickey 17
00:13from January 31 next year to April 18, when the Robert Pattinson sci-fi comedy will get a global IMAX launch.
00:21This move follows Lionsgate's decision to push Michael Jackson biopic Michael from April 18 to October 3.
00:28A Warner Bros Pictures spokesperson said,
00:31When the April date became available, we quickly moved to secure it for Mickey 17.
00:35We are thrilled with the new date and very happy the film will be available to audiences in IMAX.
00:42This film will be Bong's first ever since the breakout success of Parasite.
00:46It was originally being set to open on March 29 this year but in February was pushed to January next year.
00:53Adapted from Edward Ashton's 2022 novel and produced by Plan B,
00:58Mickey 17 centers on an expendable employee on an expedition to colonize an ice world who tries to stop his clone from replacing him.
01:06Besides Pattinson, the cast will also include Stephen Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Tony and Mark Ruffalo.
