00:00So I'm a single mom, and I share a duplex with a single dad, and it is the greatest life hack ever.
00:04We have all the benefits of being roommates without having to actually be roommates, like we don't share a living space.
00:10We have our own separate spaces, but we do things for each other as if we are roommates.
00:14We're just like built-in neighbor besties. If one of us needs something, the other person's right there.
00:18We're always doing favors for each other, like if my shit breaks, I can use his. If he needs milk or eggs or something,
00:24I got him.
00:24He likes to take the garbage cans to the street and back up the driveway because he likes to do the man-of-the-house things,
00:30but sometimes I'll try to beat him to it because I like to do my part too.
00:33But then I'll get a text, like I did today, with a picture of the garbage cans put back in their place,
00:37and it said, I'll kill you. If one of us is getting fast food,
00:39we always ask if the other person wants anything. The one morning he had his daughter,
00:43it was picture day at her school, and he didn't know how to do her hair,
00:45so she came over my place at 7 a.m., and I did her hair for her. Yesterday,
00:48he stopped by for two seconds and requested that I pop a pimple on his neck with a safety pin, and I did it.
00:54There's truly no boundaries in our friendship, and it is strictly platonic, like there are no romantic feelings involved, at least not on my part,
01:01and I'm pretty sure not on his part too, like we're just buddies. Although if that were the case,
01:04it would be a truly book talk worthy storyline for sure. I don't know, it's great.
01:08It's like having a man in the house without actually having a man in the house. It's the best. I love it.
