00:0060 families in Daraga Albay lost their homes because of the next typhoon.

00:06The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development provided assistance.

00:10They are very thankful and it will help them a lot to start again.

00:28was affected by the strong wind and heavy rain caused by the typhoon Christine.

00:35According to Salvation, they immediately went to the church when the water level started to rise because of the constant rain.

00:42When we arrived here, the water level was up to here.

00:48My three containers were left behind.

00:53We just took them because we thought it would be a waste of water if we just took them from the garage.

01:00We just took them from far away.

01:02Our house was just like this.

01:05Salvation's house is located next to a creek and in a low place.

01:09But according to Salvation, they just experienced such a strong rain

01:14that resulted in the destruction of their house and the heavy rain compared to the previous typhoons.

01:21The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Bicol in Salvation's house was totally damaged

01:30because they received P30,000 from the agency.

01:35Salvation is very thankful to DHSUD for the assistance they received.

01:42I am very thankful because they gave me a big thing.

01:47I will also start a new house so that I can provide a good sleep for the children.

01:56Salvation is one of the six people who received assistance from DHSUD under the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program.

02:06Out of 60 houses, three were totally damaged.

02:10Under the EADSAP program, houses partially damaged will receive P10,000 while P30,000 will receive P30,000.

02:19If there is a calamity, our department should immediately take action

02:25so that if there is a request from the LGUs that a house has been destroyed,

02:31we will be given a list of affected people so that we can validate on the ground

02:36together with other documentary requirements and provide assistance.

02:40According to Attorney Richard L. Manila, the regional director of DHSUD Bicol,

02:45more than 29,000 beneficiaries were processed by the program and they are still verifying it.

02:53We have a list of those who will be processed.

02:56We submitted the list of those who will be processed.

03:01We received a request from Sangay and of course, we know that Libon is a public knowledge.

03:09The situation in Libon is very bad.

03:12They are still receiving applications from those who want to receive the assistance.

03:18They just need to go to the barangay and municipality.

03:22The LGUs will submit a list of houses that were damaged due to natural calamities.

03:29If they receive it, their agency will immediately conduct an assessment and they will go through several processes.

03:36DHSUD will receive a portion of the assistance in the next few days in different places in the Bicol region.

03:43This is just one of the actions of the government for the recovery of those affected by Hurricane Christine.
