00:00Welcome to another episode of One India Poll Rap, where we bring you the latest updates
00:16on the elections across India.
00:18Today, we will delve into the key developments in Jharkhand and Maharashtra, as both states
00:26prepare for their upcoming assembly elections.
00:31As Jharkhand gear-ups for its assembly elections, Chief Minister Hemant Soren has officially
00:38filed his nomination from the Berhat constituency.
00:42However, his affidavit has ignited controversy due to discrepancies regarding his age.
00:49In 2019, Soren claimed to be 42 years old, but this year, he states he's 49, an astonishing
00:59increase of 7 years in just 5 years, raising serious questions.
01:06The Bharatiya Janata Party, or BJP, is demanding the cancellation of Soren's nomination, citing
01:13these age discrepancies.
01:16Jharkhand BJP spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo emphasised the implausibility of such a change
01:23and raised concerns about Soren's reported drop in income from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 4 lakh,
01:31and alleged non-disclosure of assets.
01:35Complaints have been filed with election officials, with plans to escalate the issue to the Election
01:41Commission.
01:42JMM stands for Jhol, Muslim Appeasement, Mafia.
01:49The Jhol government, which has established new standards for corruption, is now falsifying
01:57the affidavit.
01:58The affidavit is also corrupt.
02:01Mr Hemant Soren has increased his age by 7 years in just 5 years.
02:08In response, the Jharkhand Mukti Mocha, or JMM, defended Soren, labelling the BJP's
02:27allegations as frustration-fuelled.
02:30JMM leader Manoj Pandey dismissed the claims as baseless and suggested they reflect the
02:37BJP's fear of losing in Jharkhand.
02:40The Jharkhand Assembly elections will take place in two phases on November 13 and 20,
02:46with results announced on November 23.
02:50Approximately 2.60 crore voters are expected to participate, marking this an election to
02:57watch closely.
03:00Turning to Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Padnavis addressed the party's
03:05strategy regarding rebel candidates ahead of the Assembly elections.
03:10He stated,
03:11They are also our own people, expressing confidence in the party's ability to persuade rebels
03:18to withdraw their nominations.
03:20The political landscape is heating up, especially with the NCP facing internal challenges regarding
03:27candidate selection.
03:29Ajit Pawar commented that by November 4, clarity would emerge on candidate placement for the
03:36election.
03:37Meanwhile, Mumbai BJP chief Ashish Shelar criticised the NCP's decision to back Nawab
03:43Malik, citing serious allegations against him.
03:47He affirmed that the BJP would not support Malik and would instead back his opponents.
03:54Despite opposition from the BJP and Shiv Sena factions, Malik remains undeterred, asserting
04:01his confidence in winning with a significant margin.
04:05The Maharashtra Assembly elections are set for November 20, with counting on November
04:1023, as both the ruling Mahayati Alliance and the opposition, Mahavikas Aghari, gear up
04:17for a competitive race.

04:25meeting, stating,
