At her 23rd annual Halloween Party, Klum told PEOPLE she decided to embody the character because E.T. has been "part of most of our lives" and she's always been "a big fan." She added, "[I] kind of thought about the universe in a different way and I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with a wig and everything so I just thought it would be fun to become E.T. and especially to see two." Klum said they started getting ready since 11 a.m.

00:02Well, since I'm 9 years old, E.T. has been part of most of our lives, I guess.

00:08I've always been a big fan of E.T. and kind of thought about the universe in a different way.

00:14And I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with the wig and everything.

00:22So, I just thought it would be fun to become E.T.
