00:00All right. So I told you I'd give you the D. Wade statue defense. Would you like to
00:05hear his defense of the reactions to his statue? Sure. All right. This was D. Wade yesterday.
00:12Dwayne Wade. He got honored. He finally won a game where somebody got honored, which was
00:17nice. That's been a change of pace for a while. Did a cool interview with Jax in the middle
00:22of it, of halftime. But before the game, he spoke and he reacted to all the backlash his
00:30statue has gotten. Have you had a chance to see any of the reaction to the, to the statue
00:35yesterday? And like, was there any like reaction that you had at all to everyone's reaction
00:40to it? Yeah, I have an iPhone, social media. Let's see all the things, man. It's a lot
00:46of talk about me in this world. I don't, y'all got to know me by now. I, I care, but I don't.
00:55But you know, social, you know, the social media world is about opinions. Everyone has
01:00an opinion. Everyone utilize, use y'all opinions. Please talk more about us. Talk more about
01:06a statue, come out and see it. I'll take some photos, send some memes. We don't care. It
01:12was a special moment yesterday. My family and I, you know, I, I love a lot of people
01:19don't know. I don't know a lot of people with a statue. Do you? Anybody here? Y'all know
01:25anything about the process of a statue? No one out there do neither. And so, you know,
01:32it's an unbelievable process to be a part of, and it's a complicated process. And you
01:39know, when the sitting down with the Miami heat and myself, what we wanted to do is we
01:43wanted to capture a moment that represented the organization and represented myself and
01:48represented the city. I felt like we captured that moment, um, you know, artistic form and
01:53artistic way. If I wanted to look like me, I'll just stand outside the arena, y'all and
01:57take photos. You don't need to look like me. It's an artistic version, um, of a moment
02:02that happened that we're trying to cement. Um, so what do you stop it for? What is your
02:08finger up for? Before we saw this, before we saw the statue, they made a big deal of
02:20how D Wade paying attention to every detail, correct? That's where you have been very,
02:28very, no, no, no. That's what they said. I'm not, I'm not guessing. I'm not, not this is
02:33what was said to us about the distance between his nose and his lip and all this stuff and
02:39all it correct. Now he says, so, so, so let me get this straight. It don't need to look
02:54like him, but the distance between his nose and his lip need to be accurate. Explain that
03:01to me. I'm just trying to make sense of it, the details, but he just said, it don't need to look
03:09like me. It does look like him though. It does look like him. That's not what he said. That's
03:15what you said. I'm just telling you, you think it's supposed to look like me. I could just
03:20stand outside and take pictures. So he's admitting it doesn't look like him. You got to admit it
03:26again. I don't think that was his intention, but based off of your words, wait, just kind
03:39of admit that. If I wanted it to look like me, therefore implying that it probably doesn't
03:46look like him, but if he had wanted it to, he would have just stood out there. So he's
03:51implying it's a beautiful statue. I saw it up close yesterday. It's like, wait a minute.
03:58Time out. What is what I love about what people do? Nobody questioned whether the statue or
04:08the honor or the moment wasn't amazing. Okay. Everybody don't get a statue. It is an honor.
04:20Unlike any other. Okay. But he pretty much just admitted it doesn't really look like
04:29it. And that's okay. I mean, it wasn't really an admit. He's just like, you know, I felt
04:36like it was more like, Hey, take your opinions and, and, and stuff it, you know, like he
04:39doesn't want to hear it from you going down the conversation. Don't just hear the part
04:42you want. Y'all think that you look like me. If it, if it would look like me, I could just
04:48stand outside. So it's gotta be a little different. It's not a human. So now you're
04:56see, what you are the worst dude. It is a statue. It's not a human. It looks a lot like
05:12him. Really? He just said it. Don't look like, Oh, that's not what he said. That's not what
05:17he said. Okay. Replay that one more time. And this time, use your ears. You know, when
05:26the sitting down with the Miami heat and myself, what we wanted to do is we wanted to capture
05:30a moment that represented the organization and represented myself and represented the
05:35city. I felt like we captured that moment, um, you know, artistic form and artistic way.
05:41If I want it to look like me, I'll just stand outside the arena. Y'all gonna take photos.
05:45You don't need to look like me. It's an artistic version of a moment that happened that we're
05:49trying to cement. Um, so well, you don't always look the same at every moment. It's not how it
05:57works. Hold on. Hold on. He said the statue was not designed to look like him. It was designed
06:09to capture a moment. I mean, it doesn't, I mean, people are saying it looks like Forest
06:15Whitaker. It doesn't look like Forrest Whitaker. I'm saying whoever you say it is or isn't the way
06:24just said, it don't look like him. No, no, no. That's not what he said. That's not what he said.
06:29Repeat what he said to me. He's saying like, if I just, I said, repeat, he said,
06:34how would you think it's an artistic expression? If I wanted it to look exactly like me,
06:39I would just stand outside and take pictures. So he's admitting it doesn't look exactly like him.
06:43I mean, like a little bit, you got to take some leeway with, with, uh, with bronze, you know?
06:50Oh, it's not brass anymore. I forgot. I'm sorry. Why would it be made of the same thing as a
06:56trumpet? You should have just corrected me. Usually you can't get away with mistakes on
07:00this show. Tony Rizzo really scarred me. I don't want to say anything.
07:06Um, I'm just, you know, my family and I just woke up today, still in disbelief,
07:11still in disbelief that we were chosen, that I was chosen, uh, to be, you know, the first person in
07:17this organization's history and this to, uh, to have that, uh, honor and it's an honor. And so,
07:24um, I appreciate all the comments that everyone has because I'm, I'm in on the joke guys. Like
07:29I laugh all the time. Like I'm cool. I saw some memes that I was like, yeah, I mean,
07:33it kind of got a little Laurence Fishburne, uh, lower, lower jawline. I mean, my jawline is
07:37covered with this beard. Y'all can't see it. I have a beard at the time. So y'all can see my
07:42jawline a little more, but, um, you know, the, the family at Fine Art Studios did an amazing job
07:49and I hate that for them because they are in a different world, you know, when it comes to the
07:53work that they're doing and what they create. And every time they create something, someone
07:57has to come out and say something about their creation that cannot do what they do. And so I
08:01know what, I know what that feels like because I'm an athlete who people talk. I was a former athlete
08:06who people talked about me a lot, but they couldn't do what I do. And so, you know, you
08:10learn how to just, you know, laugh, look at it and learn from it, move on, whatever. So, um, we good.
08:17We good. Yeah. You guys bullied the artists. No, we didn't. No, we didn't see the point that I'm
08:26making is this with all this, it was not made to look like D-Wade. It was made to capture a moment
08:34and wait, this is not conjecture. This is not opinion. This is me believing the words coming
08:40out of D-Wade's mouth. I think, no, you know, based on what he said, it's one of these things
08:47where like, Hey, if, if the game went a certain way, you have to have answers for how the game
08:53went. And so I'll back. He said, the artist bullied that bronze. It looks like him. No,
09:04it doesn't do it. It looks like, Oh, it doesn't. I'm telling you, if I walked up on that in a dark
09:14place, I would be scared. Well, I mean, like it's, I don't know why you're scared. It's a
09:20moment of celebration, but I will say this. If I approached that statue, like D-Wade said,
09:29and remember the moment it's awesome. This side, harsher, harsher than the other side,
09:37you know, very pointy on the jaw. I don't understand how that's happening. The sun.
09:44Yeah. The sun was right there. And so it's like, ah, man, it has to be like the perfect angle,
09:49perfect sign. And you're like, Oh, not that bad. No, no, no, no. I think it really was Goosey's
09:55being around it. It was, it will be back from the back. It looks just like, okay, no, I'm just
10:03saying just the, you know, just the pose, the body. So here's the deal. And here's the point
10:11that I would like to make. If you listen to what D-Wade said, it actually, it actually makes
10:22the statue that much more appreciative. Okay. When you go into it, if you went into it thinking that
10:31it's supposed to look like D-Wade, then you're not getting what they were trying to do.
10:37But if you go in there and you look at the statue and you say, that's this moment,
10:43that's, this is my house, then you get a whole different opinion of it. But to go in there
10:49thinking that's supposed to look like D-Wade, D-Wade is telling you, no. So you can say it
10:57kind of looks like him. You're just being nice. The man who the statue was made out of, who spent
11:0216 hours with him, says, no, it wasn't designed to look like him.
11:05I think he's defending the artists. He very clearly cares about the artists.
11:09Really?
11:10Yeah. So, you know, it's kind of like-
11:12Listen to what you do. To make you right, you will say that the actual person
11:20who's talking about the statue to help build the statue, you don't believe his responses.
11:25It's something that-
11:26I'm taking D-Wade for what he said. You saying D-Wade's lying.
11:29I think he's being nice, but I think it's one of these things where I like the statue. I think it
11:34looks like him, but it's fine. I get the jokes too. Like it does have, I have to admit there
11:40are harsh angles. There are harsh angles, harsh angles.
11:43But again, here's where they got, here's where they got lost. I think a little bit
11:51because when he got on that table and he was yelling, this is my house,
11:57they tried to capture that.
11:59Yes.
12:01So-
12:02That's why I was doing the side-by-side the other day and you were like,
12:05nah, it doesn't look like it. I'm like, it does, the roar.
12:08But here's what I would say.
12:11I have, first of all, I appreciate it anyway.
12:17Now, no, no, it's worse.
12:21No, what do you mean it's worse? It's not worse.
12:26Marcos.
12:27Okay. If you square, the jaw is too square. Even he said it, the jaw is too square.
12:32His face is a little bit more rounded off.
12:35I understand the mouth open thing, but I agree with Leroy.
12:37You didn't necessarily, no one like needed that specific second.
12:40Right.
12:42What did you want the section? What did you want it to be?
12:44What do you think? Would it be smiling? Like, Hey, a smirk, like, you know, this is my house.
12:52Ain't nobody on this world got bronze teeth.
12:55What?
12:57That's a fact.
12:58That's a fact.
12:59There's no teeth in any bronze statue.
13:01No, I'm sure there is, but I'm saying like in their efforts to show teeth,
13:08they messed up the rest of his face in the head.
13:12Okay. Again, D Wade said that.
13:20This is not about looking like him. It's about capturing a moment.
13:26Okay. I appreciate that because now I went into it thinking the statue was supposed to look like D
13:34Wade. Now I do not. Now I think of the statue as that moment and not looking like D Wade.
13:44So now that I heard that you won't hear another thing.
13:47For me about questioning until you say it looked like D Wade, then we're going to have a problem
13:53because D Wade said it wasn't designed to look like D Wade.
13:57Something tells me you're going to have more things to say.
13:59No, no, because when they, they said it wasn't designed to look like him.
14:04So then I can't go into it.
14:06Yeah.
14:10So what if it's a little terrifying? The moment to him in the head?
14:15That's how he's going to do it. That's what he said. So what? The statue looks nothing like him.
14:19So what?
14:22Hey, let me tell you something. It does look, wait, not for nothing. It does look closer to that.
14:30The D Wade. Or just put up one of the, uh, walking dead people.
14:36You know, they walk around town with their hands like this.
14:38They would look good though. D Wade Boulevard look good yesterday.
14:42Yeah. You said the pictures took a little look at it. And of course he, you know, he came and gave
14:47you some little credit, gave you some credit. Yeah. Well, can you say how long ago is that?
14:52He still didn't, he still didn't see me. No. Why?
14:54No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
