00:00And good news in sports,
00:02the 18-year-old Filipino jet ski racer has just arrived in the country
00:07after winning his second world title in a competition in America.
00:13Let's meet Darlene Cai.
00:20Strong and fast with determination,
00:23that's the 18-year-old Filipino jet ski racer Anton Ignacio.
00:31For the first time in the 2024 International Jet Sports Boating Association
00:36or IJSBA World Finals held in Lake Havasu City in Arizona, USA.
00:42Anton is the champion in the Pro-Am Runabout 1100 Stock Event
00:46after scoring 173 points,
00:49where he won the championships of other countries like Germany and Thailand.
00:53Anton's victory is also historic
00:55because aside from being the youngest Filipino jet ski racer
00:59and his second world title in the next year.
01:03It's a feeling that will forever stick with me
01:06because more than the win,
01:08I feel like I made a lot of people proud back home.
01:11I know that I've been working hard for that.
01:13That was really a good moment for me.
01:17He was so excited about the competition that he didn't expect to win.
01:22This year was really hard year
01:24because there's this one person I'm against.
01:28He's a four or five-time world champion already.
01:31And everybody there is a world champion already.
01:36When he crossed the line,
01:38I have our flag with me.
01:42So I was just waving our flag.
01:44And of course I was crying because
01:46I saw how hard Anton's determination was.
01:52The feeling this year, it's still a total surprise
01:55because it's a different division.
01:58I was in fact hesitant for him to join
02:02because I said,
02:03Why? Maybe he can't do it yet.
02:06So when he won,
02:08everyone was looking at me.
02:10Of course, I was so happy.
02:12In fact, I was crying.
02:14And it's the best feeling.
02:16Anton will take a short break
02:17before returning to training for the competition in December.
02:20All of this is worth it.
02:22All the heartbreak and sacrifices.
02:24For GMA Integrated News,
02:26Darlene Cai has been talking for 24 hours.
