NASA’s Climate Time Machine Shows 2024’s Record Setting Heat and Emissions

Our planet is getting warmer, there’s no doubt about that. Now NASA’s climate time machine is showing just how bad things have been.

00:00Our planet is getting warmer. There's no doubt about that. However, despite international

00:08governmental climate agreements set to restrict and reduce global emissions, the World Meteorological

00:13Organization now says that 2023 set a new record with regards to atmospheric pollutants.

00:19This means that global emissions will now most certainly lead to the 2.7 degree Fahrenheit

00:23average planetary temperature rise scientists have long warned of. August 2024 was the hottest

00:28month our planet had ever seen, with July 2024 setting the record before that, and June

00:332024 before that. And our planet's oceans had similar records set, with August's global

00:38ocean surface temperatures being the warmest ever as well. In fact, on several occasions,

00:43global temperatures rose above the 2.7 degree Fahrenheit pre-industrial mark for several

00:48days. This is the first time this has ever happened in the Northern Hemisphere, with

00:52experts saying that we're not only on track to surpass the global temperature increases

00:56scientists have warned of, we're set to double them by the end of the century.
