Did you know that the old iconic red cream bus have been serving Bangkok for over 30 years?
00:06
Introduced in 1988 and by the 1990s these buses have become a city staple and back then
00:13
fare started at just 3 baht. These buses are still running and are 8 baht per ride.
00:18
There are now only three models of non-air-conditioned red cream buses left with a
00:23
total of 1,519 units. The Bangkok bus club reported that the red cream buses are the
00:30
oldest in BMTA's fleet. Still in use and there are no plans for their retirement or replacement
00:36
with new buses at this time. So next time you hop on a red cream bus just think this
00:42
must might be older than you.
