00:00DAP Secretary-General Loke Siu Fook has dismissed former Prime Minister Najib Razak's apology
00:06over the 1MDB scandal.
00:09When asked if he accepted Najib's apology, Loke told reporters that the apology was irrelevant.
00:14It's not a question of whether I'm accepting any apologies.
00:18With or without any apologies, a crime is a crime.
00:22He has been convicted and I think conviction, of course, has been proven by the court, he
00:27found guilty.
00:28That remains a fact.
00:29So, to me, the apologies does not mean anything.
00:34The transport minister also reiterated that the proposed house arrest bill had nothing
00:38to do with Najib.
00:39So even the discussion about the house arrest law is about prison reform, it's not about
00:45Najib.
00:47He also said the proposed law, if passed, would not apply to convicts involved in serious
00:51crimes.
00:53Last week, in a statement read by his son, Najib made an unreserved apology to Malaysians
00:58after reflecting on the scandal over the past 26 months.
