Jharkhand Election: BJP vs JMM Posters Spark Billboards War in Ranchi

As Jharkhand gears up for next month's Assembly elections, the battle between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is playing out not just in rallies but on billboards as well. Ranchi is witnessing a war of posters featuring accusations from both sides.  The JMM's hoardings, while criticising the BJP-led central government, demand the return of what they claim is due to the state. The JMM posters came in response to the BJP’s hoardings, which criticised state government schemes and promised to bring change to Jharkhand.  Mushtaq Alam, the Ranchi district president of the JMM, said, “We can work better for our people if we get this amount (Rs 1,36,000 crore).”  BJP spokesperson Pradeep Sinha said, "We challenge the JMM to clarify whether the due amount is from the last 10 years or from previous UPA governments. What did Shibu Soren do to recover the amount? 00:00There is an election atmosphere in Jharkhand and the atmosphere is set.

00:04On one side there is India Alliance and on the other side there is NDA.

00:07India Alliance is being led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which is currently a ruling party.

00:12On the other side, the face of NDA is the Indian People's Party,

00:15which is already in the election field with full momentum.

00:18Both the parties are holding strong rallies, but the discussion is about the posters.

00:31Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Indian People's Party are holding a new poster rally.

00:37The new poster has been launched by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, which is in the center of the discussion.

00:42This poster has been placed on the biggest hoarding of Jharkhand's capital, Ranchi.

00:47Through this poster, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has attacked the Indian People's Party.

00:52And has demanded Rs. 1,36,000 crores from the state government.

01:00Rs. 1,36,000 crores is the balance of our royalty.

01:07And the government, whether it is theirs or not,

01:10but since the Modi government has come,

01:14apart from giving us our balance,

01:18the GST that we get is accumulated in thousands of crores.

01:23And even that, these people cut it as a balance of electricity bill.

01:29They have left the matter of giving.

01:31And slowly it is increasing.

01:34There is no special package for Jharkhand from the central government.

01:41A small package, whatever it was,

01:44assume that it was under the Prime Minister's housing scheme like Indira Awas.

01:53They did the work of closing that too.

01:56So we want to ask them,

01:58what did you give us, our Rs. 1,36,000 crores?

02:02We have promised the people of Jharkhand.

02:07Apart from this, we will make this the top state if we give Rs. 1,36,000 crores.

02:14The Indian People's Party does not support the postage banners.

02:17Our ground is ready.

02:19And what you said that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has put up a banner,

02:23it will run for Rs. 1,36,000 crores.

02:25The Indian People's Party is ready to debate with them at any cost.

02:29I challenge them to come and try to tell us

02:33whether it is a 10-year-old problem

02:35or something from the time when UPA 1 and UPA 2 were going on.

02:41Or something from the time when their father, Sivu Soren, used to be a coal-minister.

02:47So how much did Sivu Soren try to bring that banner back to Jharkhand?

02:51He had said a lot of things.

02:53He said that we will bring coal from Kolkata to Karnataka.

02:56He could not do anything.

02:57So I challenge the people of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha

03:00to give Rs. 1,36,000 crores.

03:02Give us a break-up as to how long the programme will last.
