00:00Hello and welcome back to another episode of learning badminton with me.
00:03I am Abhijeet Naimpally. Today's episode is about net shots. So net shots are
00:09typically strokes which are played only in the front area of the court. The idea
00:14of this stroke is to draw your opponent from the rear court to the front court.
00:19So the idea is to take the shuttle at the shoulder level and play the stroke
00:24in such a way that the shuttle just crosses the net and dips down. Yeah so
00:35when this happens you can clearly see that the opponent will have to be
00:38running fast and coming to the front area of the court to play that. So what's
00:43going to happen here is she is now aligning herself and the foot with the
00:49shuttle that's incoming here and the point of contact will be here. So she's
00:54just going to place the racket under the shuttle which will enable it to just
00:59fall off the net on the other side. Let me show you a couple of exercises which
01:03you can try out with your sparring partner and improve your backhand net
01:07shot skills. One is the multi shuttle feed.
01:12The second one would be the lift drop and net shot workout. Let me show you
01:25that as well. So this is also one other variant of practicing your net shots. The
01:37third one would be where you and your partner can practice. One can play the
01:42backhand net shot. The other one would be trying out the forehand net shot.
