00:05professionals and community leaders on the auspicious occasion of Filamerican History Month.

00:11In a message dated yesterday, October 21st, Biden acknowledged and highlighted the proud

00:16history and heritage of the Filipino-American community in the United States. 15 years ago,

00:22in 2009, the U.S. Congress officially recognized October as Filipino-American History Month,

00:28and several states in the union have followed suit to pass resolutions declaring October as

00:33the observance of Fil-Am History Month. Close to 4.5 million Filipinos and Filipino-Americans

00:40call America home, making them the third largest Asian-American group,

00:45behind 5.2 million Chinese and 4.8 million Indian nationals.
