00:00We have to ensure that the well-being of the larger population are well taken care of.
00:12So not increasing R95 for 85% of the population, increasing cash aid to the lower income groups
00:22and imposing a minimum wage to RM1,700.
00:26So all these are measures that we want to uplift the income level of Malaysians.
00:33Any big ticket item like, is there space, fiscal space?
00:37I think the Prime Minister has made it very clear that under the national budget, there
00:43will be no focus on mega projects.
00:46That is in line with what the government and the PM has always said, that as far as HSR
00:52is concerned, it has to be a private sector land.
00:55So we are still working on the mechanism, we are still evaluating, and of course I have
00:59to bring it to Cabinet for a decision on the way forward for HSR before we discuss with
01:05Singapore.
01:06So I think we are not deviating from the policy direction that the Prime Minister has given.
01:15So as far as national budget is concerned, more focus are given to the basic necessity
01:21of the public, of the population, of the people.
01:24Education, healthcare, transportation, housing, and uplifting the socio-economic status of
01:31the larger population, especially on the lower income groups.
01:34So I think that this budget has reflected that direction.
