00:00Hello everyone. Welcome back to our series on holistic wellness. Today, we will discuss
00:07how yogic wisdom helps us to maintain a healthier relationship and stay peaceful.
00:14Love and hate are strong emotions that influence our relationship. Developing an emotional
00:21intelligence is essential for managing these strong emotions. Emotional intelligence is
00:28the ability to recognize and understand emotions in ourselves and others, and to use that
00:35awareness to guide our behavior and handle relationships effectively. To develop that
00:42kind of emotional intelligence, Patanjali offers a simple insightful sutra which says
00:48Maitri Karunamudita Upekshanam Sukha Dukha Punya Apunya Vishayanam Bhavanath Chitta Prasadhanam.
00:57What exactly Patanjali explains is, he classifies all people in the world into four categories
01:05and he labeled them as happy people, unhappy people, people engaged in good acts and people
01:13engaged in bad acts. And what Patanjali suggests is, you must have a Maitri means a friendliness
01:21towards happy people and Karuna, compassion towards those people who are unhappy or suffering
01:28and you must be joyful towards those who are doing good acts and indifference towards those
01:37who engaged in bad acts. By practicing these attitudes, friendliness, compassion, joy and
01:43indifference, one can handle the various people he encountered and maintain harmony in their
01:51relationships and stay peaceful. Thanks for watching. If you found this insight useful,
01:58please share it to spread the knowledge and stay tuned for more insights on overall wellness.
