00:00Coopercotch, who plays Eric Menendez in Monsters, Delisle & Eric Menendez Story,
00:04is sharing his reaction to the new Netflix documentary about the Menendez brothers.
00:09The doc simply titled The Menendez Brothers was released after the scripted series.
00:13While appearing on Watch What Happens Live,
00:15host Andy Cohen asked the actor about his thoughts on the doc.
00:18I thought it was great. I thought they did a great job. I thought they left out a couple
00:22pieces of information that would have been great to have in there, which is the two pieces of new
00:26evidence that have come out, which is the letter that Eric wrote to his cousin Andy.
00:31Cotch went on to talk about the letter, which wasn't discovered until 2018,
00:35decades after the brothers' 1996 conviction in their second trial.
00:39He wrote a letter to his cousin Andy like six to eight months before the murders that were,
00:45that he was telling him about the abuses was still happening.
00:48Yes.
00:49The other piece of evidence referenced by Cotch involves a new witness.
00:52And then also the, a member of Menudo, Roy Rosello,
00:57came out about also having been sexually molested by Jose Menendez.
01:01Yeah.
01:02Jose was a top executive at RCA Records, the label where boy band Menudo was signed in the 1980s.
01:07The producers of the documentary told The Hollywood Reporter that they didn't include
01:11the new evidence in their feature because they were leaving that up to the attorneys
01:14currently fighting with the habeas petition.
01:16Producer Rebecca Evans said,
01:18When we were making the documentary, we felt like we're not here to litigate a case.
01:22We're not here to present evidence or new evidence in that way alongside the attorneys.
01:27Evans also said they left out the Menudo member's allegation because they, quote,
01:31really wanted to focus on the brothers.
