00:00India has become the center for technology right now.
00:05Now with the current geopolitical situation,
00:08the focus of the Western world is shifting towards
00:12products which are made out of China.
00:17And the next best origin, next best place for supplying products,
00:24technology products, having a large manufacturing base is India.
00:28So, I mean the benefit of India being in the right time zone,
00:33the benefit of India being on the top of the technology landscape,
00:38it is helping.
00:39Now in the last few years,
00:41as Prime Minister mentioned this morning also,
00:44in the last few years the country has taken,
00:47has grown leaps and bound into this technology.
00:50So we were late to come into it,
00:52but once we entered into the telecom world,
00:57we have actually gone faster than most of the other parts of the world,
01:02from going from 2G to 3G to 4G,
01:05and we were the first and the fastest ones to launch 5G.
01:09And while the world is still adopting 5G,
01:12we are already talking about 6G.
01:14And as the Minister also mentioned this morning, Mr. Jyotiradi Sindhia,
01:17that we want to be the leaders in developing the 6G technology.
01:22So I think the current situation, geopolitical situation,
01:26and the way India has positioned itself,
01:29we are very well placed to not only benefit from this technology revolution,
01:36but also support the world in coping up with all the requirements from technological products.
01:42There is a, this year the focus is more on,
01:46there is a focus, high focus on getting the semiconductors also manufactured in India.
01:52So we are investing hugely.
01:55So it's going really, really well right now for India.
01:59Absolutely wonderful.
02:00In fact, some of the foreign dignitaries who were here,
02:03I think some heads of states who were here,
02:05they were astonished to see the UPI payments being made even on the roadside stalls.
02:10So you go and buy a 10 rupee tea or a fruit vendor,
02:17and you buy something for even 10 rupee,
02:19and the guy is having a facility to do UPI payment.
02:23I mean, it's absolutely a revolution.
02:25Even, I mean, we never thought that it will be adopted so fast.
02:29So today, change is not an issue.
02:31If you remember some time back,
02:33you're going with a bigger note,
02:34and you want to spend 20 rupees,
02:35you have a 500 rupee note,
02:36there is a problem.
02:37But now you carry your phone,
02:39and you don't have to carry anything.
02:40Do the digital payment.
02:41It's quick and fast.
02:43And similarly, transferring the money to your close,
02:47to your kids who are living in another city or another country,
02:52it's a matter of a few seconds.
02:55So this is a big enabler.
02:57Actually, this payment system,
02:58the digital payment system is a huge enabler.
03:00And everybody is benefiting,
03:02right from a smallest fruit vendor to the biggest industrialist.
03:06This is really helping out.
03:08India will have a very big role to play.
03:11You heard the telecom minister say this in 6G.
03:15Although I would be slightly more guarded in saying where we are with 6G,
03:20because even the 5G adoption is still happening.
03:23See, the network has been laid out.
03:25So you heard this morning,
03:28more than 350,000 sites have been installed by Reliance and Airtel.
03:34But monetization is still not happening.
03:35The use cases are still not there for 5G.
03:39So first of all, the monetization will happen.
03:41The operators need to recover their money.
03:43But side by side, the development of 6G will continue.
03:47So it's still very early to say.
03:50But India is taking the right steps.
03:52I mean, we are positioning ourselves very well to be a partner,
03:56not only the user of the technology,
03:58the partner in developing the technology.
04:01So that is what is good about the way the country has progressed in the technology field.
