A new poll from KFF finds that healthcare is the expense category which Americans worry most about not being able to afford. Veuer’s Matt Hoffman has the details.

00:00Rising costs have been a major economic concern for years.

00:03A new poll from health policy non-profit KFF indicates that health care may be where that

00:08threat is most keenly felt. The poll, released today, found that unexpected medical bills and

00:13health care services are the expenses which Americans are most worried about being unable

00:18to afford, with 74 percent expressing concern. That's the highest proportion in a list which

00:23also included transportation, utilities, food, debt, and housing. Health care costs were a

00:28prominent concern across the political spectrum, although for Republicans they were slightly edged

00:33out by transportation costs. When it comes to how this issue might affect a rematch between

00:37President Biden and former President Trump, respondents gave Biden a slight two-point

00:42edge on having done more to address the problem. But only 14 percent of respondents said he'd done

00:47enough. So we may be heading into a general election with two candidates who are both

00:51perceived as weak on one of America's most highly prioritized issues.
