'Not for sale': Labor wary of privatisation fight over NBN

Communications Minister Michelle Rowland has underlined the government's stance on whether the NBN should be publicly or privately-owned as Labor attempts to draw the coalition into a privatisation fight.

00:08We took to the last election a statement that we would not privatise the NBN for the foreseeable

00:13future because we wanted to ensure that the job was finished.

00:17The NBN is not for sale.

00:19Keeping the NBN in public ownership is good for affordability, it's good for our regions

00:24and it's good for our economy.

00:26We know the lived experiences of Australians is that when essential services and assets

00:31are privatised, it results in an increase in prices and a reduction in service quality.

00:37That is why the Albanese Government is keeping the NBN in public hands.
