00:04will be inaugurated today.

00:13At 9 in the morning, an inauguration will be held

00:16for the Cancer Care Facility or Cancer Care Center

00:20here in East Avenue Medical Center.

00:23The aim is to increase the number of health care centers in the country

00:27that specialize in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

00:34Based on the data from 2023,

00:36cancer is the third leading cause of death in the Philippines

00:39where lung cancer is the first on the list.

00:43That's why the Cancer Care Center inauguration in East Avenue Medical Center

00:48aims to increase the number of facilities and services

00:51that focus on cancer care.

00:53Services for screening, diagnosis, and post-cancer care are expected to be added

00:59such as radio-ontology, surgery, chemotherapy, and palliative care.

01:04The inauguration program was led by Department of Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa,

01:09Dr. Alfonso Nunez III of EAMC,

01:13and Center Care Head Dr. Mericler Suliman.

01:17If I recall, last year,

01:20President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. led the inauguration of Healthway Cancer Care Hospital.

01:27This is the first specialty hospital for cancer care in the country.

01:32It is a proven expanding medical service

01:35with the help of the government and the health sector.

01:39Dayan, later the DOH and several branches of the East Avenue Medical Center

01:43will visit the facilities for diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
